this isnt a question of how evil the military is lol the fact that trans people are banned from enlisting isnt making people upset because they wanted to enlist and now they cant its a problem because the ability to enlist is (unfortunately) a facet of citizenship that trans people had taken away from them and this is most likely the first step in this administrations movement to strip lgbt people of their citizenship

idk how its hard to understand that people arent upset by this because theyve lost their right to participate in us imperialism theyre upset by it because the trump/pence administration is beginning to strip people of their citizenship

Also: there are 15,000 trans people in the military ATM. That’s 15,000 people who could lose a job, housing, HEALTH CARE, including mental health care – and all sorts of benefits if they go the DADT route, of dishonorable discharge once you’re outed as trans. And if they don’t, if they go the pre-DADT trend of basically witch-hunts to out people? It’ll be dangerous & brutal for people in that environment.

Plus what will it mean for veterans, who also often depend on the VA for health care & support? What will it mean for everyone’s families?

Smug “well that’s just another reason to destroy the military industrial complex ;)” is just….. ridiculous to me. NOT ACTUALLY THE PROBLEM, RIGHT NOW.
