Friendly reminder: if you work in the medical field, please do not wear perfume/etc. to work especially if you work with patients.
I think I know why, but would you be willing to elaborate so I can screenshot this and send it to my friend in the medical field? Thank you.
Me, personally, I have asthma and migraines. Scents are one of my triggers.
These scents can make me nauseous, can trigger coughing/throat closing up, cause head pain, as well as other symptoms.
I do not cover up my nose to be rude. I am doing it for my own sanity.
I did hear about this girl who had MCAS(Mast Cell Activation Syndrome) and she went into anaphylaxis because of a scent.
I am just really sensitive because I went through high doses of chemo as a kid. Medication is also known to heighten your smell sensitivity.
Other people could have other experiences. Please add if you have any experiences or information!
I work at an organization for people with disabilities, and we have a strict policy against fragrances for this reason.
