silicone skin-textured opera gloves

this is of course a Joke Post but I see ppl in the notes asking genuinely why these exist so some uses for this product:

– an amputee with a prosthesis, but it doesn’t look all that realistic, so they want a cover on it so they can wear short sleeves without having to tell everybody in the world The Arm Story

– someone with severe burn scars, surgery scars, visible birthmarks, or other visible deformaties, variations, or eye catching differences, who also wants to be able to wear a t shirt without small children asking their parents loudly about their arm

– props for stage/screen/halloween

– depending on flexibility, hand makeup – say you need to show an actor doing something skilled, but the actor doesn’t know how, and their professional hand double who does have the skill has a different skin tone. Makeup is standard, but if your hands double is black and your actor is white, it’s honestly just… easier to use a silicone sleeve? as long as they still have their dexterity.

– and bonus: how do you put this on?

so much lube. so much. it’s skin tight and it’s silicon, so you drench the inside of the prosthetic with talc or you slather your arm in Vaseline. personally I prefer talc when applying silicon prosthetic sculpts, but I’ve never used something as form fitting over a limb as this, and I suspect you’d have to use Vaseline or similar.

now return to your enjoyment of this joke post safe in the knowledge a know it all online has Well Actually’d it.
