anyway if you’re so inclined and have the means to do so, this article has multiple different ways that you can help victims of california’s current wildfires, including organizations you can donate to.
the camp fire in northern california wiped the entire town of paradise off the map. no exaggeration. over 17,000 structures destroyed, over 27,000 people who are not only homeless but lost *everything* they have, 79 confirmed fatalities so far, and 699 people still missing nearly two weeks later. the woolsey fire in southern california has caused 3 fatalities, burned nearly 100,000 acres, and destroyed at least 1,500 structures. because of the smoke, san francisco currently has the #1 worst air quality in the world.
a lot of affected areas are now expecting rain in the next few days, which sounds good but really only means mudslides, putting people in further danger.
if you can’t help out i get it, but i’d appreciate if you could at least reblog. i love my state a lot and we go through this every year, but this is on a whole new level
