If you would report an undocumented immigrant to ICE you would have reported me to the Nazis and I donât fucking trust you
A note:
I live in a state where you âhave toâ report anyone you suspect of being undocumented (that wonderful hellhole of Arizona). Now in practice this law has fallen far short, thank goodness. But if you live in such a place and they start enforcing it, here is how you get around it:
Assume everyone who doesnât speak English is visiting.
Never ask about their job, because if they tell you they work here then you know theyâre not visiting. You see them a lot for several weeks or months? Hm. Someone in the family must be ill. Thatâs terribly tough. They always dress in old, ratty laborersâ clothes? I feel you, my dude, I canât afford new clothes either, and my dad has the fashion sense of an aardvark, so sometimes itâs not even about âaffordingâ them. They say theyâve been here for years? You must have misunderstood. Spanish isnât your first language, after all. First and last name? It never came up, or you donât recallâyou meet a lot of people.
And then, if youâre asked: no, you havenât seen anyone residing illegally in the United States. Just people visiting.
Very good very important addition
Essentially, this is the civil society version of a work-to-rule strike.
Donât do more than is expressly asked of you, and do what you are asked with such an intense attention to protocol that not asking you at all becomes more effective than even bothering.
In this case:
âHave you seen an illegal immigrant?â
âCould you describe an illegal immigrant, officer?â
*officer describes a person who is in the country without appropriate paperwork, or who has crossed the border illegally*
âNo, sir, I havenât seen any illegal immigrant.â
And this is correct. You have NOT seen an illegal immigrant, because you have no way of knowing if Jose Fulano is here legally or not. And since you canât see his paperwork (or lack thereof), and did not personally see him cross the border illegally, you are only answering precisely the question asked.
Iâm not American, and I have like, three followers, but this is important.
The contextual foreignness of firm breasts in a society that doesnât use bras
This is funny and charming
By far one of my favorite posts.
I love that across cultures, every woman grabs their boobs.
My friend is an army wife and spent some time with her husband on his Pacific posting. One day the locals invited the families from the British base for a big get-together. It was going really well but after a few hours the British women noticed that a lot of the local babies were crying, so my friend asked one of the mothers if there was something wrong, like a bug going round or something. The mother replied,
âOh no, theyâre just very hungry.â
So my friend asked, âWhy donât you feed them?â
And the mother said, âWe will when youâve gone. We use our breasts to feed them and we donât want to embarrass you.â
And my shocked friend said, âBut we do that too!â
So all the British mothers who had babies sat down and whipped out their boobs to feed them (whether they were hungry or not) and the relieved local mothers then did the same.
Two things:
– because western ladies usually cover their boobs the local ladies werenât sure whether western women use boobs for what theyâre supposed to be for
– women everywhere are considerate of other women
I also really love this photo set because, far too often, we only see pictures of African women as anthropological archetypes. They are treated like exhibits to be studied, similar to exotic animals or landscapes, rather than human beings. I LOVE these pictures, because here we have women of two different cultures laughing and talking and playing around. You can see their personalities shining through and I LOVE IT
Women đđŸ
this is one of those photosets that fills me with the rocket-fuel equivalent of hope and optimism
Reblogging this beautiful post before it becomes a tumblr crime
That last comment broke my heart, honestly. This has always been one of my favorite photo sets because of everything it presents: confidence, curiosity, personalities shining through the lens, positive interactions between culturesââ
ââand now itâs going to be goddamn BANNED because of âfemale presenting nipples.âÂ
Youâre inflicting so much harm with your decision, @staff and @support. Youâre erasing so much more than you could ever realize.Â
This photoset is beautiful because it presents bodies as what they are – not objects solely for titillation, but as something everybody across the world has, and that they hold the potential of positive connection.Â
have some fucking tips for androgynous presentation that mixes femme and masc styles and isnât just âbe afab and wear trousers from the menâs sectionâ
recently I wore some of those trousers with the wide non form fitting legs  and added small heeled boots. 10/10 would recommend I felt very high fashion. looked masc but was making the femme click clack heel sound.
basic loungy outfits can be made 100% more queer by adding colour. srsly jeans with a nice tshirt is queer as fuck if the jeans are orange.
wearing the femmest outfit possible, long skirt, cute blouse, etc. becomes a power move when you do so without a single shred of makeup. bonus if your hair is short. bonus if itâs not a pixie. bonus if your shoes are stompy
find all your Statement Pieces. wear them together. voila.
we all know about suspenders. now put them where they donât belong. attach them to skirts. attach them to your trousers but leave them hanging
literally just wear stuff you think looks rad because if you enjoy both masculine and feminine clothing styles it naturally follows the stuff you think looks rad together will end up being genderfuck
embrace alternative fashion/weird charity shop finds/vintage/stuff that breaks fashion rules even if its âtechnicallyâ femme/masc. part of fitting into gender roles is wearing mainstream and current femme/masc clothes because gender roles and their associated accepted dress are always shifting so anything that differs from that is automatically subversive.
billowy shirts. undo them as much as youâre comfortable with. somewhat obvious but the howlâs moving castle vibes are v strong. am I a femme arts student or a dashing masc pirate type? who knows.Â
floral patterns feel a billion times more masc if the colours are bold.Â
personally after I stopped wearing makeup I felt I lot more able to just be like huh. thatâs my face. and feel kinda triumphant in the ugly parts of it and just be unabashedly weird. and if thatâs not genderfuck idk what is. same w not shaving my legs tbh. I enjoy just existing.
that said if you do like makeup, using just (just. no foundation or shit) eyeshadow or just lipstick? also a power move.Â
If you go for the classic dapper style of androgynous presentation but want something closer to androgynous than just weird masc, try adding a soft girly jumper to your manly trousers and etc.
adding an emphasis to your natural waist to a masc outfit (with a belt or something) is a good way to feminise it and vice versa with emphasising a dropped waist in a femme outfit to bring attention away from your smaller natural one (again with a belt or maybe low waisted trousers)
long coats are very good I feel my most formless and inexplicable when my outer layer goes straight past my knees.
obviously all this is gonna be slightly biased to my agab/personal style/body type/etc. but yeah. thereâs my tips and hopefully none of them are weirdly unachievable or equate androgyny with masculinityÂ
What all ask boxes look like for me (submission boxes look exactly the same):
Left: what happens when I try to open dms (New Message does nothing); I canât even read them. Right: when I try to go to someoneâs dms from their blog.
Neither new things I post nor old things I post show up in the tags theyâre in, even if they were before.
I can type things into replies, but it wonât actually post them.
Since it doesnât seem this one has been encountered by many people yet, maybe reblog this so people know about it. Iâm probably getting deleted though
Tumblr is shadowbanning people and they arenât even trying to be subtle about it.
Please spread the word.
Iâm glad this is spreading but simultaneously it makes it sound like the shadowban is much less severe than it is because I didnât realize, and this shadowban is so severe I canât even add on / tell anyone that.
All my likes, reblogs, and replies are hidden from the notes of EVERY post.
When I like or rb things it doesnât show notes in someoneâs activity / dash, except long-time followers (not sure about the exact cutoff/conditions).
If I reblogged and added something to this from a non-follower they wouldnât even know.
Check and see: my rbâs donât even show up in the notes.
So people couldnât even find out I added something on by checking the notes either:
Not to mention: Iâm hidden from all searches, canât be @âd, past @âs of me are hidden from my notes, I donât get notified when people reply to a post I replied to, my @âs donât give notes, and every search on my blog is blanked. I canât even ask/submit to myself even with anons, and lots more.
Oh, yeah, and: MY BLOG ISNâT EVEN MARKED NSFW. Every flagged post Iâve found was restored. But every flagged post you contest brings attention to you that risks you just getting shadowbanned randomly.
THIS is the version that should get spread aroundâŠ
I think we should kill every man who wronged megan fox
i think this glosses over something megan said, and that we all know to be true: a lot of women threw her under the bus, a lot of women shamed and insulted her, called her stupid, bimbo and a whore. That was literally her public image for a long time as an actress. And we as women shouldnât collectively absolve ourselves form our part in harming her, and from participating in that kind of culture. Saying things like âwomen donât treat other women in the public sphere like that anymoreâ isnât an excuse. Plenty of men were undoubtedly creepy and disgusting towards Megan Fox, but many women stood by and either cheered them on or actively participated. That is something we have to recognise if we expect to grow, and continue to do better.
so this is an actual Controversial Opinion on here apparently but grown adults in their 20s or older talking about how much they hate middle school and high school aged theatre kids are all weirdosÂ
knowing all the words to the hamilton soundtrack isnât a personality trait but neither is being a grown adult vocally hating teenagers for being kind of annoying sometimes and having funÂ

You are PAYING for all this with your tax money – USE THEM. Most likely systems will have all 3 or 2 out of 3, so if you arenât sure call your local libraryâs reference/information desk and how you can get set-up or started.
Hey, highkey from a library worker:Â
Overdrive has a new mobile app called LIBBY I find it easier to use. Itâs the same content as Overdrive just better for mobile. Overdrive and Libby both let you send items to your kindle as well. Â
Imagine this period of struggle paying off. Imagine being granted way more than you originally bargained for. Stay the course my love. Itâs coming. Youâre almost there.
