With the holiday season coming up, a reminder that the salvation army is STILL homophobic transphobic garbage. Rather than donate to them, make a note of how much you would have donated to them while you were walking by because they were there, then give that money to a different charity you believe in.
Your yearly reminder that as a religious organization the Salvation Army is not required to release its financials, and they have repeatedly refused to do so, which is within their legal right but means you have only their word for where your money is going. But clearly the Salvation Army should not be trusted to be decent human beings, so why trust them with your donations?
Also your yearly reminder that your options are not “The Salvation Army” or nothing; there is a vast constellation of charities for you to choose from in your holiday giving, and you will get more value for your dollar elsewhere.
