I feel like Chalice’s design is hinting at a possible relation to Cup and Mugs (ancestor? great grandparent? adopted sibling? etc?) but if she isn’t well…I understand making her look like an homage to Minnie Mouse but the design could be more unique? 

so I doodled her in the dress she seems to be wearing in her statue in the ruins of that one run and gun stage.

I think Ms. Chalice is related to the boys, probably a distant ancestor;
the ruins where her statue is found also have a coat of arms featuring
Cuphead’s straw (as well as spoons and a mix of a a pitcher and an armor piece)

Making me believe that all the statues there (all of whom depict things like cups, plates, and utencils) are either related, or perhaps they’re a part of an ancient order, members of whom Cuphead and Mugman are descendants from.

But even if Ms. Chalice aren’t related to the Cup Brothers, I think her more standarized dress is more of her wanting to fit into the modern world, or maybe wanting a modern style of dress
