New episode synopsis! A student called Marc is akumatized into Reverser. Convinced that Marinette and Nath made a fool of him, he wants his revenge now!
Feri on twitter confirmed that he’s the guy with the red hoodie dancing next to Nath as well!
Maybe he will become the black and white villain when akumatized:
Sadly, it’s not airing on the 26th anymore, but the synopsis still had me shook. Our tomato boy makes a comeback and he’ll probably interact with Marinette again! And now it also makes sense why the Marc guy was next to Nath in the video. But I still have no idea what Reverser’s power could be. What do you guys think?
Hmm, with a name like Reverser, maybe his powers enable to reverse time in short burst to change his actions? Kinda like Timebreaker, but on a much smaller scale so he wouldn’t need to absorb energy to do it.
Like for instance, Chat Noir tries to get a hit on Reverser; it hits, but Reverser reverses time and dodges the hit. The way they defeat would probably be by tricking him into reversing into a trap
But wait! Gabriel has the peacock miraculous? Or he might…? There’s a peacock something-or-other in his safe with the book. I just figured the peacock was Nathalie…
The facial structure looks similar. Plus the hair is right and the color in the front is similar to the streak fo color in Natalie’s hair. Maybe she gets the peacock miraculous to help Gabriel? Or maybe he gives it to her? Ahhhh I’m so excited to see how this turns out
If we’re talking about Nathalie becoming Le Paon, I doubt it.
First of all, we were told that Le Paon was going to be Hawk Moth’s boss and would be even more evil than Hawk Moth ever was.
Second, Nathalie doesn’t look a lot like Le Paon. I did a post about this, comparing various characters’ facial traits to Le Paon, and Nathalie’s face, especially her jaw, is too square. Her cheek bones are too pronounced, her eyes have the completely wrong shape, as does her mouth as well as being too big.
And yeah, Gabriel has the Peacock miraculous; I’m pretty sure I mentioned in my speculation that he either took it from Emilie before locking her away, or Emilie kept it in the vault behind her painting when she was home
So a lot of people suspect that Chat Noir is going to turn to the dark side in season 3; most likely because he finds out Hawk Moth is his dad and that he’s trying to save Adrien’s mom.
The most proof for this theory is the intro picture here:
Where Ladybug and Chat Noir are on opposite sides, with Chat being closest to the villains.
While this picture could indicate Chat becoming an antagonist, I always thought Ladybug and Chat being on opposite sides was because they are the main character and it was in order to make the rainbow effect work.
Something other that points to the “Chat becomes an antagonist” theory is this recent teaser pic for season 3:
which you might note is lacking Chat.
I heard that the pic was debunked as fake though, but that might not be true in and of itself.
Something else I wanna talk about is Le Paon:
We know that she’s going to arrive; probably in the Season 2 finale or first episode of Season 3.
There has been a lot of discussion about who she is, most people thinking she’s Emilie, Adrien’s mom, since it seems like the Peacock Miraculous belonged to her.
While I have before expressed scepticism of this theory because of Le Paon and Emilie’s different facial traits, this speculation is based on if this theory is true.
First of all, why is Le Paon’s skin blue? We haven’t seen any Miraculous holders’ skin change color in the show (although previous Ladybug Holder Mudekudeku’s skin changed color when transforming, but that was because her skin change was based on otjize paste, and since the miraculous holder’s transformed look is now confirmed to be based on the holder, unless the skin color change holds some significance to the holder, Le Paon’s skin color is still an anomaly.)
I was then reminded of something Nooroo told Gabriel in the Origins episode; “bad things happen when you use miraculouses for evil”. I don’t think those were Nooroo’s exact words, but that was the gist of it, and I think this is the reason for Le Paon’s skin change and what might have happened to Emilie.
If you will bear with me for a moment, take a look at this character:
People who know about Overwatch will recognize her, but to the people who don’t, this is Widowmaker. She was previously a ballet dancer, married to a highranking official in a global taskforce. She was kidnapped and brainwashed by a company called Talon to murder her husband. Afterwards, they furthered the brainwashed and even artifically lowered her body temperature to the point where she can’t feel any emotions aside from when she kills people.
Her real name is
Amélie.
Now this is probably all coincidential, but it does illustrate what I think happens to a person if they use miraculouses for evil; they become basically dead inside, to the point that even their skin change color due to a lowered body temperature, and they feel nothing except for when they commit acts of evil.
I don’t think Emilie stole the book or the Butterfly and Peacock miraculous, mostly because Master Fu was a young boy when that happened. And I don’t think she even started out using the Peacock miraculous for evil. I think she started out trying to be a hero but slowly fell into villainy. (I also think she didn’t do any of it in Paris, because I feel like the citizens would have mentioned her by now. Maybe she did it in the cities she visited during filming her movies, but wanted to focus on spending time with her family while home.)
Gabriel realized that something was wrong and confronted Emilie about it. Emilie having been taken over by whatever corruption occurs when miraculous are used for evil, offers her husband and the Butterfly miraculous, maybe even offering that they take over the world together.
I think the room we saw in Gorizilla was Emilie’s lair, just like how Hawkmoth has a lair, and I think when Emilie showed it to Gabriel, he panicked, took her miraculous (or maybe she never wore it when home and the vault behind her painting was originally hers) and locked her in there.
His wife was declared missing, and Gabriel searched desperately for a way to save his wife. When nothing seemed to work, he decided in a last ditch attempt to use one of the miraculous, but he chose the Butterfly instead of the Peacock, either out of respect for his wife or fear that whatever had done that to her was tied to the Miraculous itself.
Therein comes his conversation with Nooroo in the Origins episode, where he learns that the Ladybug and Black Cat miraculous can fulfill any wish when brought together.
If all of this is true, I think Emilie is going to break free in Season 3 or the Season 2 finale. Gabriel and Adrien will learn about each other’s miraculous, and Adrien will decide to help his father heal his mother.
I remember that there was a leaked image showing Ladybug and (it was either) Hawkmoth or Gabriel in the lair under Adrien’s house, the one I think holds Emilie. Maybe Ladybug also learns what Hawkmoth wants to use the Miraculous for (without learning that Chat Noir is Adrien), but refuses to let Hawkmoth have hers since in order to cure Emilie’s corruption, someone else would be afflicted by it.
This would lead to a Season 3 where Chat Noir and Ladybug work on opposite sides. Chat feeling that Ladybug has betrayed him by not helping him save his mother, and Ladybug trying desperately to reach Chat and convince him that using the Miraculous to heal his mother is a bad idea.
This is just some light speculation about how the plot for the next episode, Syren, might go.
We know that the person who gets akumatized is named Ondine, is a talented swimmer, has a crush on Kim, and as Syren wants to transform Paris into an underwater kingdom for him.
First of all, I want to talk about the names Syren and Ondine. Most people look at Syren and think “Siren”, but I would like to point out that sirens in greek mythology are birdwomen not fishwomen. There are however a type of mermaid called “Syren” as featured in this picture called The Fisherman and the Syren:
Ondine also relates to mermaids. If I recall correctly, the legend goes that if an Ondine marries a human, it becomes a human as well. Many people believe that this was the inspiration for H.C. Andersen’s The Little Mermaid, which is about a mermaid falling in love with human, sacrifices her life as a mermaid to be with him, only to have the prince marry someone else. The story ends with the mermaid having to choose to either kill the prince which will let her become a mermaid again, or not, which would kill her because part of the spell that turned her into a human was that if the prince married someone else she would die. The mermaid chooses to sacrifice herself so that the prince can live his happily ever after with his love.
If the names of the new character hold any significance, I think Ondine will confess her feelings to Kim only to have him reject her because he loves Chloe. This will cause Ondine to become akumatized as Hawk Moth promises her the powers to build an underwater kingdom from which her prince can never escape in exchange for the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculouses.
This is just a small thought I had, but remember how in the episode The Bubbler, it’s kind of implied that blowing soap bubbles is Nino’s way of relaxing?
I was wondering why we never see him blowing soap bubbles again after that episode, but then it hit me; he probably can’t use it to relax anymore after becoming The Bubbler. Hawk Moth has pretty much ruined something that Nino loved
Listen, we all know that the Love Square is endgame; Ladybug and Chat Noir will learn each other’s secret identity and end up together, that’s not exactly a secret.
However, this doesn’t mean that Adrien and Marinette can’t date other people. It’s only realistic that they would, and it’s good to show kids that the first person you date isn’t going to be your first true love.
So, based on my observations on the episodes, here’s what I hope is going to happen; Luka will reappear in another episode, probably the one where he gets akumatized. Ladybug will still have her crush on Luka, and Chat will notice.
Chat will think that Luka was the guy Ladybug mentioned being in love with back in Glaciator, and while Chat is sad to see Ladybug with someone else, he decides that since he loves Ladybug and Luka seems like a great guy, he’ll try to get them together.
Cue Adrien finding out that Marinette has a crush on Luka, and being conflicted with what to do; should he help Ladybug get with Luka? But then his good friend Marinette would be hurt! But if helped Marinette get with Luka, Ladybug would be hurt!
I don’t know how likely all this is to happen… Maybe it could happen in Season 3? I don’t know at this point honestly, I just thought it was a good idea
I hope in a season finale, Hawkmoth will succeed at stealing the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous, and Rena Rouge, Carapace, and Queen Bee will band together to save the day
So we all know figures from folklore and mythology are present in the ML universe as previous Miraculous wielders; Hippolyta and Joan of Arc as previous Ladybugs. So who else are candidates for being featured in ML as Miraculous wielders?
Melissa. Melissa, actual name, was a nymph in Ancient Greek mythology who was said to have nursed an infant Zeus. Instead of feeding him milk however, she fed him honey. Cronus turned Melissa into an earthworm but Zeus took pity and make her into a bee. Melissa’s name comes form the Greek word for bee and given the role they play in her myth I could see her being a Bee holder. Also we know the Miraculous were in Ancient Greece for a time (Hippolyta).
Robin Hood. Robin Hood was a heroic outlaw who stole from the rich to give to the poor. Said to be dressed in Lincoln green, dark green, I could see Robin having been a Turtle holder. Wayzz has frequently been speculated to be the kwami of protection and Robin protected the poor. Also the Turtle is the only Miraculous whose colour scheme matches Robin’s (the Snake is also green but a light, sea-green). Robin was famous as an archer and we’ve seen holders supplement their tools with preferred weapons before (La Coccinelle used a rapier in addition to the yo-yo). I could even see the Merry Men being holders as well: Little John as a former Ox and Will Scarlet as a Ladybug or Dragon?
Kitsune and Inugami. Kitsune is the Japanese word for fox and are a common aspect of Japanese mythology. Inugami is spiritual possession by a dog’s spirit. I could see ancient Fox and Dog holders to be the inspiration behind the kitsune and inugami. Also we know that the Miraculous were in Japan at some point (Sun Wukong and Sasuke Sarutobi).
Black Dogs. Black dogs feature heavily in English mythology as spectral or even demonic figures. Possibly a villainous Dog holder in England was responsible for causing stories of the ghostly entity? This would work if Robin was a former Turtle as both are English in origin.
Indian Peacock. This one is a little less specific but peacocks are celebrated in India and are even the country’s national bird. Maybe a heroic Peacock is the reason the bird is so celebrated in the country.
I have a bunch of other ideas that aren’t quite as fleshed out such as Anansi being a Spider Miraculous holder (I believe there’s more Miraculous outside of the Confirmed Nineteen) and Itzpapalotl being a former Butterfly. The ML universe is establishing such a rich lore and I’m eager for it to be explored. What do you guys think?
