Something I haven’t seen many people in the Petscop community discuss is the connection between Marvin’s friend, who disappeared along with the Windmill, and Care, whose parental figure may or may not be plucking out her eyebrows
First of all, we know that the game uses different colors for each person, Micheal’s being pink, Care’s being yellow, and Marvin’s being green. That note in Care’s room that says: “Your wife says, ‘Care isn’t growing any eyebrows.’ You say, ‘That’s a puzzle.’ You’re secretly very excited to hear this news.”
“Care” is written in Care’s yellow, everything else the wife says is written in blue, and the response is written in green. Marvin is the one whose excited that Care isn’t growing eyebrows.
As a sidenote, when the Tool turns pink and communicates with Paul, it says that Marvin is hurting it when the Playstation is on and asks Paul to turn off the Playstation. Some people have theorized that because the Tool turns pink, it would mean that Micheal is the one speaking to you.
Later on, Paul is finally able to enter the Windmill, and inside is the same kind of childface that we find on Micheal’s grave and outside the shed where Care is hiding. The face also doesn’t have any eyebrows, and looks similar to Care’s. We also know that these faces are what the actual children’s faces look like. So who is the child depicted on the sign?
When Paul enters the face from the Windmill into the child library, he is told that he “found her”. Inside the room there is a note. The note says that in 1977, the person the note is adressed to stood outside a windmill with a friend. A photo was taken and the windmill and friend disappeared. The note then says “You married her sister, and years later, your friend was reborn as your daughter.”
I believe this note, like the previous one, was made out to Marvin. Marvin did something to cause his friend (who didn’t have any eyebrows) to disappear alongside a windmill, married her sister, and had Care.
Whether Care is the reincarnation is up for debate, as the note claims it has proof and the game does talk about rebirthing, but until we have seen this evidence, we can’t be sure. And regardless, it seems that Marvin is convinced that Care is his old friend reborn, and he’s plucking her eyebrows to make her look more like his friend.
