I think it’s more that she took that clump of dirt she had (the one the flower was on) and compressed it into gem shards, which she then swallowed

That makes sense! Thanks, that clears up where those shards came from.

They summarized 5 ½ season’s worth of content in 3 minutes.
If that doesn’t communicate to people how barely anything actually happens in this show I don’t know what will.

Yeah how dare they summarize 170 episodes and 5 and a half seasons worth of episodes, intriguing plotlines, and plot twists for newcomers to jump in while at the same time providing us with new clips, appearances from long awaited characters, and confirmations to theories we’ve been speculating for years

Truly this show is fucking garbage and nothing fucking happens in it

Also fun fact there’s a recap video like this for every fucking show/book series/franchise that has ever existed but sure when Steven Universe does it it’s baaaaaadddddddd

Whoa what’s the theory for Pearl not being able to speak??

Rebecca Sugar herself said that Pearl is the character we know the least about, which is true bc we know Garnet’s backstory, we know Amethyst’s, we even know a lot of Rose’s! but all we know about Pearl is basic stuff like, oh she fought alongside Rose and she at one point ‘belonged’ to someone which is just a pearl thing

BUT!! based on recent stuff and stuff in the past people have theorized that the reason for this is because Pearl is actually UNABLE to speak about her past or more ‘secretive’ things 

the reasoning behind this is that Pearl always ALWAYS reacts with covering her mouth when these things come up like this:

the reason for this isn’t completely clear but a lot of people think its because of something her old ‘owner’ did or something ingrained in Pearls when they’re made to make sure they don’t spill the secrets of the person they belong to!!!

i think its a v interesting theory (which is probably why this got so long and i got a bit ramble-y) but I think it could be canon! especially bc of the most recent one when they were at the cottage where pearl tries to talk but looks like she’s in pain (from those four images lines up in the centre of the image above)

After watching the new Steven Universe promo and reading a couple of other people’s theories, I’ve thought of one of my own.

If Pink Diamond’s size is due to her being defective, like Amethyst, this could be the reason why she didn’t have her own colony and soldiers, because the other Diamonds were hiding her away to keep her defectiveness a secret.

When Pink finally gets her colony, she has to shapeshift to a more Diamond appropriate size whenever she’s around her soldiers.

Once the rebellion starts, what if, with time, Pink started wondering why she has to hide her size? Rose Quartz’s army’s got defectives and off-colors, and they’re still holding their own against the Diamond’s forces.

She expresses to Yellow and/or White Diamond that she no longer wants to hide her defectiveness, and Yellow and/or White feel they have to destroy Pink before she reveals her defectiveness to her soldiers.

According to Yellow Diamond’s song, all gems, even Diamonds, have a specific role and job to fill. And a Diamond’s job is to be a strong and powerful leader. Besides, if Pink Diamond’s soldiers saw that their Diamond was defective, it would ultimately show that Rose Quartz’s side was right in their inclusion of off-colors.

I’m always kinda suspicious when people say they preferred Garnet from before we knew she was a fusion, ya know, when she was hiding Ruby and Sapphire’s relationship. Probably worried that Steven would misunderstand or think of her differently if she revealed it too soon. Probably maintaining a reserved and stoic personality so her excitement about being fused didn’t slip through.

What we see now is Garnet’s real personality. She’s very passionate about fusion and loves to talk about it, and she loves to show how much she loves herself. When someone says they don’t like that, I instantly don’t trust them.
